Sophie Bettex (President)

Sophie is a Doctoral student at the Professorship for Technology and Governance. Her research bridges critical criminology, sociology, and STS, focusing on how AI and algorithms are made in law enforcement agencies. She explores the intersection of technology, governance and social justice through ethnographic methods. She joined SWiSH in January 2024 and is part of the organising committee for the Gender and Science Lecture Series HS2024-HS2025. She also organised the GenTec Workshop Series (FS2025).

Neele Roch (Treasurer)

Neele is a Doctoral student in Security, Privacy and Society. With a background in computer science, Neele's research focuses on usable security. She aims to enhance the adoption and effectiveness of secure systems by designing and evaluating user-centric approaches. Her passion lies in conducting empirical studies to assess the usability and effectiveness of secure applications, identifying issues, and developing design recommendations for improved user experiences.

Tessa Portier (Board Member)

Tessa is a Doctoral student in Social and Cognitive Neuroscience. She joined SWiSH in 2025.

Frederike Maas (Board Member)

Frederike is a Doctoral student in Literary and Cultural Studies. She joined SWiSH in January 2021.

Sarah Gomm (Board Member)

Sarah is a Doctoral student in International Political Economy and Environmental Politics. She is part of the Swiss Environmental Panel project in which Swiss citizens’ opinions and preferences on environmental issues are measured and explored in a long-term panel survey in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (Bundesamt für Umwelt, BAFU). Her main research interests lie in the fields of environmental politics, public opinion research, and political psychology. She joined SWiSH in January 2023.
